Representative Experience
Over the course of almost four decades, I have advised on many of South Africa’s most significant insolvency, restructuring and business rescue matters, contributing to the evolution of the profession from traditional insolvency administration to modern corporate restructuring. As an admitted Attorney, Insolvency Practitioner and Senior Business Rescue Practitioner, I have worked across virtually every sector of the South African economy, advising businesses, financial institutions, creditors and stakeholders through some of the country’s most significant commercial challenges.
Representative assignments include:
- Leading more than 128 Business Rescue appointments, with over 110 successfully completed, making me one of South Africa's most experienced licensed Business Rescue Practitioners.
- Acting as Joint Liquidator of Consolidated News Agencies (CNA), overseeing one of South Africa's most significant retail restructurings and the successful sale of the business to Edcon.
- Appointed as South Africa's first Curator of Medical Schemes under the Medical Schemes Act, successfully restoring two medical schemes to solvency before returning them to trustee control.
- Advising on nationally significant restructuring, liquidation and corporate recovery matters involving listed entities, major mining companies, national retailers, transport operators and financial institutions.
- Acting in landmark restructuring matters involving Southnet Group, Galaxy Jewellers, Pearl Valley Golf Estate, Dilokong Chrome Mine, Esor Construction, Afarak Mogale and The New House of Busby.
