My Philosophy
Every successful restructuring begins with a clear understanding of where a business is today and where it has the potential to be tomorrow. With over a decade of specialist experience in business rescue and restructuring, my role is to help businesses navigate change by combining strategic thinking, commercial insight and practical execution to achieve sustainable outcomes.

Representative Experience
As an admitted Attorney and licensed Business Rescue Practitioner, I combine my top-tier legal expertise and sharp commercial insight to successfully guide businesses through restructuring, business rescue and corporate recovery.
Prior to becoming a Business Rescue Practitioner, I spent over a decade practising as an Attorney, specialising in business rescue, restructuring and insolvency. I worked as a Director at two of South Africa’s leading elite law firms, Bowmans and Cliffe Dekker Hofmeyr. During my time in practice, I worked on some of the country’s largest and most complex business rescue and restructuring matters.
My combination of practical and legal experience, coupled with deep commercial insight, enables me to develop restructuring strategies that support sustainable business transformation and long-term success.
Representative assignments include:
- Leading and supporting business rescue and turnaround engagements across a broad range of industries and sectors, including mining, construction, agriculture, property, retail, and manufacturing.
- Successfully restructuring businesses through formal business rescue proceedings and informal restructuring processes.
- Advising boards, financial institutions, creditors and business rescue practitioners on complex restructuring strategies and stakeholder negotiations.
- Representing a broad range of clients and stakeholders in business rescue, insolvency and commercial litigation matters during my legal career at Bowmans, Cliffe Dekker Hofmeyr and Hogan Lovells.
- Advising on nationally recognised restructuring and business rescue engagements involving companies such as Edcon, Ascendis Health, Rebosis Property Fund, Evraz Highveld Steel, Shaft Sinkers and Optimum Coal Terminal, among others.
- During my time in legal practice, I was consistently recognised and ranked as a top-tier practitioner by leading international legal directories, including Chambers Global, Legal 500, and Best Lawyers.
In terms of thought leadership, I have over the course of my career published many articles on a diverse range of topics pertaining to business rescue and insolvency, have done various radio interviews, and have appeared on television (including Carte Blanche). I have also been a speaker at various major industry seminars and conferences.
